ARCHITECTURE

Architecture is a collection of diagrams, maps, satellite images, post-digital collages and other graphic designs developed as part of my academic career as a researcher at the UC San Diego Center on Global Justice, an Organized Research Unit focused on advancing multidisciplinary research on poverty and global development, with an emphasis on collaborative urban interventions at the local scale, in partnership with nonprofits, government agencies and civic stakeholders. The Center on Global Justice is home to the UC San Diego Community Stations, a network of four field hubs located in marginalized communities along the San Diego–Tijuana border region, where researchers, students and community-based agencies partner on research, cultural activity, pedagogical programming and urban intervention, to engage community-defined challenges and execute solutions collaboratively. Building civic and cultural bridges where walls divide has been at the core of my practice, and will continue to be wherever I go.
