ENGLAND

2018

England was my home for a couple of years growing up as a kid. Back then, my parents had temporarily settled in a small town named Guildford, just an hour away from London. My recollections from those years are limited, so I had no choice but to return to build upon those faded memories. I took advantage of a work-related trip to Europe and stopped by the United Kingdom. I stayed some days in London and visited the northern shires. Alongside New York, London is one of the world's major financial centers and one of the cultural capitals of the world, with a rich and eclectic architectural heritage due to its long history of continuous redevelopment and reinvention. You can walk through London and experience history itself, centuries of the highest architectural quality all at once, from the Gothic Revival of the Palace of Westminster, through the post-war brutalism of the Barbican Estate and the monumental industrial design of the Tate Modern, to the high-tech structural expressionism of the Lloyd’s building. London is a place like no other, a place that inspires and dazzles.
