LEBANON
2022
My trip to Lebanon was a special one, not only for being my first visit to the Middle East, but also for having celebrated an epic wedding that will live on forever in my memories. Everything about this trip revolved around the wedding crew. The soon-to-be newlyweds organized a wonderful group experience across the country that included visits to ancient cities, historic sites and natural wonders: Baalbek, a settlement inhabited since the prehistoric era known for its ancient Roman temples; Batroun, a port city founded by the Phoenicians, that treasures a well-preserved old district with narrow winding alleys that invite visitors to step back in time; Byblos, a port town with ancient ruins from numerous civilizations, a heaven for archaeologists due to countless centuries of human dwelling; Jeita Grotto, the longest cave complex in the Middle East; and Beirut, the capital of Lebanon and one of the oldest inhabited cities in the world—a cosmopolitan city with a resilient spirit and thriving nightlife despite its turbulent past, economic instability, political unrest and social inequality. Lebanon's strategic location in the Middle East has made it a crossroads of civilizations, resulting in a dynamic exchange of ideas, languages, and religions over millennia; a history that keeps on breathing through its architectural and cultural legacies.
